SIMMOVATE
SIMMOVATE LTD came into being at the start of 2025. SIMMOVATE is the creation of Steven Simmonds, who has extensive product and technology development experience and expertise. The aim of SIMMOVATE is to support, enhance and grow the creative ideas of other small or start-up businesses, through implementation of successful strategic and project acumen, the creation of compelling business cases and providing insight into the exacting requirements of global customers.
Steven Simmonds' Biography
Steven completed his degree in Mechanical Engineering and graduated from The University of Sheffield in 1999 as a Master of Engineering, with honours. During the course of his degree he had a placement in Ford Motor Company's Engineering Centre in the Advanced Powertrain Team, during which he had a patent awarded.
After graduating, Steven began work for the highly commended Cosworth Technology in Northampton, remaining with them through their sale from Audi to MAHLE becoming MAHLE Powertrain. During this time he went from graduate engineer through powertrain development to development leader, project manager and chief engineer. It was in this period that Steven worked on and led several highly acclaimed engine development programmes for a variety of global OEMs.
More recently, Steven worked for Advanced Electric Machines based in the North-East as Projects Director and subsequently Engineering Director. Advanced Electric Machines has been developing a series of innovative new motor designs.
Steven's latest endeavour is working for the well-renowned company DSD known globally for their high quality development of drive systems.
It is this breadth of experience across a variety of sectors that Steven brings to SIMMOVATE, putting him in a unique position to help the newly-fledged and growing businesses of today become the successes of tomorrow.
